Description
Revised SOW This solicitation has been extended to allow for answers to additional questions that came about during the 13 July 2011 Site Visit at Building # 4261 (Well-B). (Note: See revised/attached Statement Of Work). The answers to the questions are stated below: 1. Is a Bid Bond required for this work Answer- Bonds are required In Accordance With - FAR 28.102 & FAR 52.228-15 - DFARS 228-102-1 & FARS 252.228-7004 - AFARS 5128.1 2. Electric heat tape - is there an outlet to accommodate heat tape, if not, who will be responsible for outlet? Answer - Contractor is responsible for all connections to provide all electrical connections to heat tape. 3. Exterior rated pipe insulation - there are several brands of exterior pipe insulation and applications. Answer - Contractor is required to utilize industry standards for exterior piping insulations 4. The Well's operation - I ask the question today at the site visit about the Well being operational. The answer was " the Well has been off since Feb". My concern is if the Well does not work properly when the time comes to turn it on, who will be responsible if the Well does not work properly. Answer - The well operation is not part of the scope of work. 5. On scope of work #6 ( test water by state approved agency to meet specifications ) is there a record of the Well water ever being tested before. If not what happens if water test fails. Answer - All water testing is deleted from scope of work. 6. Question on 8" pipe replacement. Need to be more specific on type of pipe. Black pipe, Black iron pipe are used for gas piping not potable water. Welded steel pipe I cannot find anywhere in the codes to be used for potable water. Answer - Piping, fittings and associated materials will be in accordance with ANSI/AWWA C115/A21.15 Flanged Ductile-Iron Pipe Ductile-Iron Type of piping and fittings will be the following: - 8 Inch Flanged Ductile Iron (Class 250) - 8" Inch Flanged Fittings ( Class 250) - Gasket Material for flanged Fittings will be " Full Faced Gaskets" 7. What type of insulation is required for this project? Answer - Contractor is required to utilize industry standards for exterior piping insulations 8. Is the insulation to have a jacket type cover or not? Answer- Yes 9. How is it to be attached to the piping? (straps, or screws, or bolts) Answer -Straps 10. Please provide a specification and drawings of the insulation. Answer- Specs and Drawings will be provided from the insulation manufacturer. The government does not endorse any specific manufacture 11. What manufacturers are acceptable for the heat trace equipment? Please provide specifications and/or drawings. Industry standards Answer Specs and Drawings will be provided from the insulation manufacturer. The government does not endorse any specific manufacture 12. Where will the controls for the heat trace be installed? (Inside the building or outside) Answer - Inside the building The new deadline for the receipt of all bids is Tuesday 2 August at 1000.
