- Description
- The Government intends to award an out of scope modification to Kuenz America, Inc., under W91278-10-C-0107, which was for the Supply and Installation of a Trash Rake Cleaning Machine at Jim Woodruff Powerhouse, Chattahoochee, Florida. The out of scope work involves designing, manufacturing, delivering, installing, and providing corrosion protection of new trash racks and guides for three intakes at Jim Woodruff Dam. It was the original intent of the government to re-use the existing trash rack with slight modifications for the support of the trash rake. Therefore, the trash rake was designed to fit the existing rack. Further study of the trash rack has indicated that it has degraded to an unacceptable condition, necessitating its replacement. The contractor has designed the rakes and has knowledge of the issues with the existing trash rack. Award of the trash rack to Kuenz will enable them to effectively schedule, coordinate activities, provide QA, and warrantee the work. It is in the best interest of the government to have Kuenz America, Inc. to perform this work since the new trash rakes and guides must be compatible with the new trash rake cleaning machine that will be supplied and installed in Kuenz's current contract. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals. All responses received within 15 calendar days after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
