Description
NASA/ARC is hereby soliciting information about potential sources for theprocurement of an uncooled infrared camera that will be used to image rocket plumesduring the liftoff of launch vehicles.The camera must have the capability to seethrough/photograph through the steam produced by the evaporation of water used on thelaunch pad and through the smoke to identify the hot core. No solicitation exists; therefore, do not request a copy of the solicitation. If asolicitation is released it will be synopsized in FedBizOpps and on the NASA AcquisitionInternet Service. It is the potential offerors responsibility to monitor these sitesfor the release of any solicitation or synopsis.The camera must meet the following specifications:640 X 480 resolution, uncooled, and infrared Spectral range of 7.5 to 13 micrometersThermal sensitivity Noise Equivalent Temperature Difference (NETD) of approximately 50 mKFrame rate of up to 200HzTemperature measurement range from 0 degrees C to 2000 degrees CDigital data streaming capability through GigE EthernetOne 45 degree view angle lense, f/1 opticsOne 24 degree view angle lense, f/1 opticsRecording, data analysis, and plotting software.The camera must be delivered to NASA Ames Research Center by September 10, 2011.Vendors having the capabilities necessary to meet or exceed the stated requirements,including delivery, are invited to submit appropriate documentation, literature,brochures, and references.NASA is seeking capabilities from all categories of SB for the purpose of determining theappropriate level of competition and/or SB subcontracting goals for this requirement.The requirement is considered to be a commercial or commercial-type product. Acommercial item is defined in FAR 2.101.This synopsis is for information and planning purposes and is not to be construed as acommitment by the Government nor will the Government pay for information solicited. Respondents will not be notified of the results of the evaluation. Respondents deemedfully qualified will be considered in any resultant solicitation for the requirement. The Government reserves the right to consider a small business or 8(a) set-aside based onresponses hereto.
