Description
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Galveston District has a requirement for the above subject. This is a Sources Sought only. This is not a Solicitation Announcement and is not a Request for Proposal and does not obligate the Government to any contract award. The purpose of this Sources Sought synopsis is to determine interest and capability of potential qualified Small Business firms relative to the North American Industry Classification Code (NAICS) 336399. The Small Business Size Standard is 750. To make an appropriate acquisition decision for the above project, the Government will use responses to this sources sought synopsis. The order of magnitude for this effort is estimated between $500,000.00 and $1,000.000.00. Project Information: The contractor shall provide all equipment, personnel, supplies and any licenses required to perform the work. The work will consist of the following Scope Of Work effort. Scope of work for modification of hull and propulsion system of the Tejeda. The Tejeda is a 44-foot Corps of Engineers waterjet propulsion aluminum survey boat. Full load displacement and LCG are estimated at 39,000 pounds with LCG 21.50 feet forward of the transom at the baseline. The propulsion system is comprised of Cummins QSM-11 engines driving twin disc waterjets through gears (with 1:1 ratio) and cardan shafts. The boat is currently moored at the Gulf Coast Marina, Ingleside, Texas. Through this scope of work, the Galveston District intends to convert the Tejeda from the above waterjet propulsion system to a shaft and propeller drive with rudder steering. The existing engines are to be retained but will have to be serviced and moved with foundation modifications required to accommodate the new propulsion system. Conversion to the shaft drive will require contractor to supply and install reduction gears, controls for engines and gears, shafting, struts, propellers, hull modification including a hull extension with propeller tunnels, and installation of a complete rudder steering system. It will be the responsibility of the contractor to provide all labor, components, and services required to make the repowered Tejeda fully functional and operational. Dock and sea trials will be required upon completion of the work and prior to final acceptance. There would be Liquidated Damages Daily amount for each calendar day until the work is completed or accepted. Performance And Payment Bonds would be a requirement. Provide Documentation for your firm on past or similar efforts as a prime contractor, in the last three (3) years. The Documentation shall include contract number, project location, description of the work requirements, contact and phone number for each effort.
