PRE-SOLICITATION NOTICE FOR REMOVAL OF CARPET, REFINISHGING WOOD FLOORS AT CAMP BUTLER NATIONAL CEMTERY LOCATED IN SPRINGFIELD, IL WITHIN SANGAMON COUNTY. The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), National Cemetery Administration, is soliciting bids under Solicitation Number VA-786A-11-IB-0090 for the following: A summary of the work to be performed is as follows. The contractor shall provide all professional services, labor, materials, tools, supervision, administration, and equipment necessary for the removal of carpet, repairing existing wood floor under the carpet, and then refinishing the wood floors throughout the entire ground floor of the Administration Building and second floor stairway. The work also includes the removal of the existing rubberized flooring in the vestibule and replacing with new resilient vinyl flooring. The work also includes the replacement of the exterior front entry door, replacement of wood hand railings; other related and incidental work including the painting of walls and ceilings of the ground floor area of the building. COST MAGNITUDE: The magnitude of this project is less than $25,000. CONTRACT DURATION: Performance period is 90 calendar days from date of receipt of Notice To Proceed. NAICS CODE: 236220 METHOD OF AWARD: THE GOVERNMENT CONTEMPLATES AWARD OF A FIRM FIXED-RICE CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT UNDER VETERAN OWNED SMALL BUSINESS SET ASIDE. Award will be made on a competitive basis under Federal Acquisitions Regulations (FAR) 14 to a responsible service disabled veteran owned small business responding to this solicitation. OBTAINING SOLICITATION MATERIALS: Solicitation material consisting of the Invitation for Bid (IFB) details and specifications may be accessed ONLY via FedBizOpps at http://www.fedbizopps.gov. No telephone requests will be accepted. The solicitation, specifications will be released for issue on July 29, 2011. SOLICITATION AMENDMENTS: Amendments to the solicitation will be up loaded to FedBizOpps. Offerors are reminded that they are responsible for obtaining and acknowledging all amendments to this solicitation prior to the time for receipt of offers. Paper copies of the amendments will NOT be individually mailed. The cut-off date for questions is August 3, 2011, at 12:00 p.m. Eastern Time. Questions must be received in writing via e-mail. The email must be entitled "Camp Butler National Cemetery - Question(s)." BIDDER'S MAILING LIST: Interested parties should register for the Bidder's Mailing List at http://www.fedbizopps.gov "Interested Vendor List".
