- Boat Pictures, attachment 1 REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) The U. S. Forest Service is searching for vendors interested and capable of manufacturing and delivering a work boat for use on the Chelan Ranger District, Chelan WA. The District currently operates a 32 ft. work boat and is seeking a second craft of the same general specifications. This boat will be used for hauling passengers and cargo and general work projects on a large fresh water lake. It must have the capability to do shore landings without the aid of a dock. It must also be able to operate safely in rough water conditions. Specification drawings are at attachment 1. REQUESTED INFORMATION: Respondents interested in providing a response to this RFI should carefully read the attached specification and submit information which clearly describes the following: (In A through E). A. Company Capabilities to manufacture this type of boat as well as proven commercial availability. B. Provide comments to the attached Specification as well as any recommended changes to the Specification. C. A rough estimate concerning production timeframe and price ranges. D. Social-economic information: (1) Business Size in accordance with NAICS Code 336612. The expression of interest should state whether the concern is a Large or Small Business, and identify if Small Business Disadvantaged Business, HUB-Zone Business, Women Owned Business, 8(a) certified small business, Veteran Owned Business, Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business and business size under the potential NAICS, (2) Dun and Bradstreet number (3) Any other Government contracts held including General Services Administration (GSA) Schedule (include the GSA schedule number) (4) If your firm has recently submitted a proposal for any similar requirements with any Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, or other U.S Federal Government activities, please indicate this with your submission to include agency's name, solicitation number, and Contracting Officer's name and point of contact information. They are specifications from our current boat and are meant as a guideline that can be altered as needed: -32 feet x 11 feet, with a draft of 30 inch to 36 inch, hard top, v-hull, welded aluminum with ¼ bottom and sides. These dimensions can vary somewhat -Inside seating for 10 people with a 3000lb payload. -Twin diesel engines. -Vee drive configuration. -25 MPH cruise speed light ship. -Hull reinforced 12 inch on each side of keel with ¼ inch plate. -Push knees. -Swim platform to cover screw area. -Recessed deck tie downs. -15 inch cleats, 6 per side and 2 aft. -Minimum of 150 gallon fuel capacity. -Large rudders placed so props can be easily removed. -Hydraulic steering. -Emergency shut off on each engine with cables to operator's station. -Remote starter in engine compartment. -Stainless steel prop shafts of correct size to handle torque. -Standard bronze props of size to obtain good fuel efficiency with cruise speed of 25 MPH. -Depth finder at least 4' forward of shaft logs. -Engine synchronizer. -2 bilge pumps with automatic and manual switches. -Trim tabs. -Hand rails/ luggage rack on wheel house roof. -Sound proofing in engine compartment. -Battery boxes with built in trickle battery charger to keep batteries "topped off'. -Standard instrument clusters for both engines with lights for low light operation. -Warning lights and audible alarms for low oil pressure/high water temperature. -Ship to shore plug in with electrical outlet(s) wired into wheel house and engine compartment. -Block and or crankcase heaters installed on each engine. -Boat will be painted per Forest Service instruction. -Lockable fuel fills above deck and easily accessible. -Cabin heater and defrost with additional 2 fans on forward windows. -Fire extinguishers in the engine compartment self actuated in the event of a fire. -spot and flood lights mounted on outside of cabin. THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) BEING RELEASED PURSUANT TO FEDERAL ACQUISITION REGULATION (FAR) PART 10: MARKET RESEARCH. This RFI is issued solely for informational, market research, and planning purposes only. It does not constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP) or a promise to issue an RFP in the future. This RFI does not commit the Government to contract for any supply or service whatsoever. Further, the United States Forest Service (USFS) is not at this time seeking proposals, and will not accept unsolicited proposals. Respondents are advised that the United States (U.S) Government will not pay for any information or administrative cost incurred in response to this RFI. All costs associated with responding to this RFI will be solely at the responding party's expense. At this time, proprietary information is not being requested, and respondents shall refrain from providing proprietary information in response to this RFI. Responses to the RFI will not be returned. Please be advised that all submissions become Government property and will not be returned. Not responding to this RFI does not preclude participation in any future RFP, if any is issued. Responses to this notice are not offers and cannot be accepted by the U.S Government to form a binding contract.
