- This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice.This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This solicitation is a small business set aside since it has been determined that a small business can provide the necessary requirements. The solicitation number is FM442711601382; this solicitation is a request for quotation. This solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 2005-53 effective 5 Jul 2011; Defense DCN 20110725 effective 25 July 2011, and AFAC 2011-0714 effective 14 July 2011. This acquisition is a small business set aside. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 334517. The business size standard is 500 employees. The Federal Supply Class (FSC) is 3695. The Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) is 3844. Travis AFB has a requirement for a 3 Axis Gantry Machine. This machine is a highly automated system (iCube 3d laser foot scanner) for designing and manufacturing of orthotic insoles. Updated system and faster speeds will be time saving and enable the technician to produce orthotics in a quicker turn around time. The machine can carve up to 4.5 pairs of orthotic insoles at one time and utilize several different types of product material. Specifications for router to produce orthotic products must meet or exceed the following: - Ability to produce 9 arch supports out of one sheet of material in one run (machining both sides) in 20 minutes time - Must be able to allow user to purchase materials from any supplier they prefer and handle materials of different thicknesses, typically 1-1.5 inch - Needs to be able to mill plastics as well as EVA's - 3-Axis CNC router with 4' x 4' table and 7" Z axis stroke - Fast flip fixture for machining polypropylene and other hard arch support materials. Mounts on flip fixture deck. - Production orthotic vacuum table with flip fixture for machining hard plastic arch supports on both sides and a 2-zone matrix configuration for machining EVA arch supports, and foot positives - Fagor 8035 Industrial CNC controller - Ethernet connection for network set-up - ATC spindle with 5-position tool rack - Manual quick-change tool release - Programmable spindle RPM - Programmable spindle on/off - Tool rack - Auto tool height sensor - Z-axis counter balance - Robotic flex-type wiring - 5 HP oil-ring type vacuum system with inlet filter and motor starter - Orthomill software interface that communicates with Fagor 8035 control - Dust collector 1200 CFM - Shipping to Travis AFB - Training for Brace Shop personnel Qty: 1 Ea Award shall be made in the aggregate, all or none.
