- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will be issuing an Invitation for Bid for Upgrades to the HVAC systems and Mass Notification System (MNS) in multiple buildings at the Westover Air Reserve Base (ARB), Chicopee, Massachusetts. The ARB is upgrading the HVAC system to provide an emergency air distribution shut off system in accordance with UFC 4-010-01 (DoD Minimum Anti-Terrorism Standards for Buildings). The HVAC upgrades include replacement of all outside air supply, exhaust, and relief dampers with automatic low leakage dampers; and installation of a mater emergency HVAC shut-off switch in each building. Activation of the emergency shut-off switch will stop all building fans and close all outside air dampers. The MNS upgrades include modifications to existing MNS systems, modifications to existing fire alarm control panels, and upgrades to the existing central control station to receive, monitor, and control individual MNS systems. This work will include programming and software upgrades as required. Systems shall be provided in accordance with all state and local codes and upon completion, work shall be tested in accordance with the specification for final acceptance.
