Description
The RFI originally posted under N65236_SNOTE_0002473A on 17 July 2011 withresponses due on 09 August 2011 is hereby extended until 23 August 2011.Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center (SPAWARSYSCEN) Atlantic, Code 6.3.2.0,is seeking information on commercially-available Interactive VirtualEnvironments (IVE) for use by the Air Force Medical Modeling & Simulation(AFMM&S) program in creating a proof of concept for a Virtual Medical Center(VMC). The VMC would allow each user to have a personalized avatar by whichthey can navigate the virtual world and communicate with other users.Communications must include at least text and Voice-over-Internet Protocol(VOIP). The virtual world would allow patients to interact with doctors andother patients in multi specialty clinics. Virtual environment training forpersonnel is required. The architecture delivered should support the dynamicallocation of network resources to accommodate load balancing, provisioning,object management, system monitoring, security, scaling and redundancy. Thesystem should support thousands of concurrent users accessing it while ensuringdata and services have high availability in terms of reliability and latency.The virtual clinic delivered with the proof-of-concept should include virtuallecture halls, classrooms, doctors offices, labs, and other environments asneeded. Submittals due 23 August 2011.The information received shall be reviewed to conduct objective, comparativeassessments and validation of commercial equipment and systems. This RFI is forinformation gathering and planning purposes only, and should not be construedas a Request for Proposal (RFP) or solicitation of an offer. The Governmentdoes not intend to award a contract on the basis of this RFI or otherwise payfor the information solicited. All information received will be treated aspublic knowledge; therefore, vendors should not submit proprietary informationin response to this RFI. Specific information sought includes:1. Company information, including name, address, and URL.2. Whether a purchased product or a service-based product is offered.3. A point of contact for follow-up information, and the point of contactsphone number and e-mail address.4. Product name and a brief description (75 words or less) of product.5. Cost information.
