Description
THE SOLICITATION FOR THIS PROJECT WILL BE POSTED TO FED BIZ OPS ON OR ABOUT JULY 14, 2011. Description: "The Contractor shall be responsible for providing all labor, tools, material and equipment necessary to perform all work in strict accordance with the specifications and drawings. Payment for the contract work will be made only for and under those pay items included in the Schedule of Items. All other work and materials will be considered as incidental to and included in the payment for the items shown. This project consists of asphalt crack sealing, asphalt patching, applying a single layer asphalt surface treatment Designation 1C (Grading D Aggregate - 3/8"), and road striping on a segment of FSR 73. The base items apply to a segment 11.6 miles long, located between its junctions with Forest Roads 43 and 7300400. FSR 73 is a double lane road with an existing asphalt paved surface 22 feet wide. The work items include crack sealing and asphalt patching. Those items, including fog sealing of the new patches must be completed prior to placement of any asphalt surface treatment materials. There are approximately 12 different areas that need potholes patched and or skin patched (blade patches) to level pavement irregularities, with HMA asphalt ODOT ½", C, Level II PG 64-28). All areas requiring patching will be marked or staked by the by the Forest Service. The road surface shall be broomed by the Contractor prior to placing the single layer asphalt surface treatment. The Contractor shall haul and place government furnished aggregate from a FS source for a portion of the surface treatment. The aggregate is currently stockpiled at the Hoodoo pit in T.7S, R.351/2 E, Section 14, which is accessed via FSR 5190030. The contractor shall also provide aggregate from a commercial source for the remaining portion of the surface treatment, and provide emulsified asphalt grade CRS-2P and all equipment necessary to apply the asphalt surface treatment. The aggregate shall be hauled by the contractor, in vehicles that do not exceed Oregon Department of Transportation legal load limits. After the surface treatment is applied, the contractor shall apply the pavement striping required in the contract specifications. The contractor shall provide flaggers and pilot cars needed to control traffic and provide safety during application of the asphalt surface treatment materials, and provide any traffic controls necessary for worker and user safety when other work items are in progress." This project is estimated to cost between $100,000 and $250,000. The response due date is now September 2, 2011 @ 12:30.
