Description
Repair Pump Motor at the B2.1 No. 3 Pumping Plant, Navajo Indian Irrigation Project, 20 miles south of Farmington, New Mexico. The Bureau of Reclamation, Four Corners Construction Office, intends to issue a solicitation for the repair of a pump motor located on the Navajo Indian Irrigation project pumping plant No. 2.1 No. 3. The motor at Pumping Plant B2.1 located south of Farmington, New Mexico, at Navajo Agricultural Products Industry (NAPI) has a suspected shorted winding. Cause of failure is unknown. The motor is a US Motors TEFC motor. All work (including removal and installation) on the motor shall be completed by October 1, 2011. Contractor shall provide all equipment, materials and labor necessary to perform the work in this work statement unless specifically excluded by this work statement. The contractor shall transport the motor from the B2.1 pumping plant to the contractor's facility and back. FCCO will provide the crane for removing/reinstalling the motor and the contractor shall be responsible for any electrical and mechanical disconnections/reconnections. The contractor shall give the government representative 5 days notice prior to removing or reinstalling the motor to schedule a crane. Motor 3 (449 TP frame, Type JU 200 HP, 1780 rpm, 3 phase, 460 volts). The Four Corners Construction Office (FCCO) will conduct multiple shop inspections during the disassembly, inspection and repair of the motor. The contractor shall give the government 2 working days notice that they are ready for the motor to be inspected. If contractor's location for doing the motor work is greater than 50 miles from Farmington, NM, any travel costs for on-site inspection (at contractor's facility) will be weighed against the contractor's quote. The actual inspection time will not be included in the travel time. 1. The contractor shall transport the motor from the pumping plant to their shop and back to the pumping plant. FCCO will provide all labor, equipment and materials required to remove the motors. 2. After the motor has been removed, it shall be taken to a machine shop. No work with the exception of the removal and reinstallation of the motor shall be done at B2.1 Pumping Plant. 3. The contractor shall inspect the motor, check all mechanical fits, replace all bearings, steam clean and bake stator and rotor windings, balance motor and touch up coatings. Contractor shall provide a report with a quote for repairs to FCCO on the cause of the motor failure. Contractor is responsible for all labor and materials necessary to perform the inspection and report results. No work shall commence until FCCO has inspected the motor and reviewed the report. The quote shall include each item on a separate line item: removal and any field work, inspections, check mechanical fits, replace bearings, steam/bake, balance, coating and reinstallation. 4. After the contractor provides FCCO with the inspection results and quote, they will give the contractor the authorization to proceed with any motor work FCCO deems necessary. 5. Reassemble the motor to the stage necessary for installation and deliver to the B2.1 pumping plant, install and align to pump. Service Wage Rates will apply; ref: www.wdol.gov A firm-fixed price contract will be awarded resulting from Request for Quotation No. R11PS4L074 using procedures prescribed by FAR Part 12 - Acquisition of Commercial Items in conjunction with FAR Part 13 - Simplified Acquisitions, to be posted on or By August 12, 2011. Thereafter, the full solicitation package may be accessed via link to this synopsis at www.fedbizopps.gov or directly at http://ideas.nbc.gov. The solicitation is set aside for small business. The NAICS is 811310 ; the small business size is $7 million.
