- All interested parties are invited to attend an Industry Awareness Day on Thursday October 6, 2011 at the Johns Hopkins University Advanced Physics Laboratory (JHU/APL), Laurel, Maryland. The Industry Awareness Day will take place from 9:00am until 1:00pm at JHU/APL, Building 26 in the Warfare Analysis Laboratory (WAL). Cell phones, PDAs, pagers and personal laptops are prohibited. Please arrive between 8: 00am- 8:30am to allow time to check in prior to the 9:00am start time. The purpose of the Industry Awareness Day is to update industry on the status of the Naval Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technology Division ™s approach to contract with a Prime System Integrator to lead the integration and fielding of Increment 1of the Advanced Explosive Ordnance Disposal Robotic System. An overview of the program to date will be provided with emphasis on the program ™s goal of fielding a system using Modular Open Systems Architecture (MOSA). Draft copies of the Statement of Work and evaluation factors for award will be provided two weeks prior to the workshop via FedBizOpps. Attendance is not a prerequisite for ultimately submitting a proposal or other involvement in the program. Attendees shall email the following information to Andrew.baran@navy.mil no later than 19 September 2011: company name, name(s) of attendees, citizenship status, address, telephone number and email address. Attendees will be provided a confirmation email. A maximum of three (3) representatives per organization will be allowed. Advance questions and/or comments pertaining to the Industry Awareness Day may be addressed to jessica.scalfaro@navy.mil. Advance questions and/or comments will be addressed at the Industry Awareness Day. Attendees will also have the opportunity to ask questions during the Industry Awareness Day. All questions and answers will be recorded and posted to FedBizOpps within 30 calendar days of the Industry Awareness Day. The Industry Awareness Day purpose is solely to offer information regarding potential involvement in Increment 1 of the Advance Explosive Ordnance Robotic System; not to obtain proposals. The Government will not pay for information obtained during the workshop or for any time and expense of the participants.
