Description

PRESOLICITATION NOTICE: The VA National Acquisition Center will issue Request for Proposal (RFP) VA-797-11-RP-0194 for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) for Washcloths, Reusable, White. VA purchases approximately 1,924,203 of these Washcloths, Reusable, White on an annual basis. Only one award will be made as a result of this solicitation. The Washcloths, Reusable, White are being procured as an SDVOSB set-aside. Therefore, all offerors products must be manufactured by a small domestic (or "outlying area") manufacturer. Outlying areas include Commonwealths: (i) Puerto Rico (ii) The Northern Mariana Islands. Territories: (i) American Samoa (ii) Guam (iii) U.S. Virgin Islands; and Minor outlying islands (i) Baker Island (ii) Howland Island (iii) Jarvis Island (iv) Johnston Atoll (v) Kingman Reef (vi) Midway Islands (vii) Navassa Island (viii) Palmyra Atoll (ix) Wake Atoll. Specifications for Washcloths, Reusable, White are as follows: Washcloth, Reusable, White 12" by 12" 86% Cotton & 14% Polyester 1Fabric Content: 86% Cotton/14% Polyester 2Washcloth Size: Finished product size shall be a minimum of 12" by 12" 3Weight of Washcloths: Weight per dozen must be a minimum of.75lb per dozen or 1oz. each 4Edges of washcloths shall be over edged by stitching with 10 to 14 stitches per inch with breaks, skipped stitches and run offs overstitched ¾" to 1". No loose or untrimmed threads on finished product 5Washcloth shall have a border without terry loops, placed 1" to 2" from edge, on all four sides. Border shall be ½ to 1inch wide 6Manufacturer Label: Constructed of either Polyester or Nylon 7Contents of Manufacturer label: Fabric Content, Laundry Instructions, Country of Manufacture Washcloth, Reusable, White 12" by 12" 100% Cotton 1Fabric Content: 100% Cotton 2Washcloth Size: Finished product size shall be a minimum of 12" by 12" 3Weight of Washcloths: Weight per dozen must be a minimum of.75lb per dozen or 1oz. each 4Edges of washcloths shall be over edged by stitching with 10 to 14 stitches per inch with breaks, skipped stitches and run offs overstitched ¾" to 1". If you submitted a bid and samples for the previous solicitation for this item (VA-797-11-RP-0128) you DO NOT have to submit more samples, but you will have to fill out the new solicitation document and submit it by the closing date. You may make pricing changes if necessary. Solicitation #VA-797-11-RP-0194 will be electronically issued in commercial item format, in accordance with FAR Part 12, on or about August 26, 2011.
