Description
This Sources Sought Notice is for informational and planning purposes only and shall not be construed as a solicitation or as an obligation or commitment by the Government. This notice is intended strictly for market research. The purpose of this Sources Sought notice is to determine interest and capability of potential qualified Small Business Administration (SBA) certified: 8(a), HubZone and Service Disabled Veteran-Owned firms relative to the North American Industry Classification Code (NAICS) 423830 (Industrial Machinery and Equipment Merchant Wholesalers). The U.S. Military Academy West Point NY is seeking sources capable of providing a Laser Engraver for the USMA Department of Electrical Engineering at the United States Military Academy (USMA), West Point, NY. Minimum hardware and software features of the Laser Engraver must include: A table top unit with a work area of at least 18"x12". A 40 watt air-cooled CO2 laser, with adjustable power. Automatic Focusing. Vacuum table for securing material. Anti-scorching/flare up air assist High speed servo motors. System resolution - user adjustable from 75-1200 dpi. Moveable home position and visible locator. Raster, vector, and combined operating modes. Memory Buffer to store recent jobs. Interface: Ethernet and USB, compatible with Windows 7. Graphics software, such as Coreldraw x4, minimum of 3 seats - education version eligible. Ability to operate engraver from a minimum of 3 locations/seats Operate on 110 VAC, 60 Hz. Dust extraction port. Rotary attachment. Vector cutting pin table. Interested sources are requested to submit an email delineating qualification, capabilities, and experience for providing these services. Sources must sufficiently demonstrate the capability to perform these services and must provide detailed experience and qualifications in all previous work pertinent to this effort. Please include your business size with your submittal. This is not a Request for Proposal or an announcement of a solicitation and no solicitation package exists at this time. Your responses will be used solely for market research purposes of the Government. The Government will not pay for any materials provided in response to this notice and submittals will not be returned to the sender. The applicable North American Classification System (NAICS) Code for this requirement is 423830 and the small business size standard is 100. Responses due are to be submitted by e-mail to Lorie.Rizzo@usma.edu. The information requested must be received no later than 1630 on 19 August 2011.
