- Description
- The National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS), Research Triangle Park, NC intends to solicit on a sole source basis with Tecniplast, USA Inc., West Chester, PA pursuant to 41 U.S.C.253(c)(1)--Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This procurement is for the acquisition of Laboratory equipment and supplies, Box 110SF – Universal Flow with touch screen for all IVC racks – 110 V 60Hz – equipped with transmitter (TX) for the Remote Alarm System (RAS) and pre-arranged for WDM. The equipment will be replacing and upgrading the older Tecniplast Slim Line Trollies used in supplying exhaust air to and from the Tecniplast IVC racks currently used throughout the animal facility to house rodents. Failure to use genuine Tecniplast products to operate these rack systems could breach the micro environment and cause loss of valuable research animal data. This procurement is for the acquisition of 500 each of Tecniplast #1284L481SU Polysulfone Tope Flow EB Cage tops and 1000 each of Techniplast # ACPC13077PL Plastic End Load Cage Card Holders to fit the cage bottoms that are currently used CMB Comparative Medicine Branch at NIEHS. The equipment will ensure a sealed micro environment when fitted to the Tecniplast ventilated system. The air flow to the individual ventilated cages is maintained via the supply and exhaust valves located on the end of the top filter. These top ports are specifically made to attach and seal properly to the Tecniplast ventilated cage racks used in the animal room. Failure to use genuine Tecniplast products to operate these rack systems could breach the micro environment and cause loss of valuable research animal data. This determination of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however all responses received within ten days from the date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract action based upon responses to this notice is solely with the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. If no affirmative responses are received within ten days of this notice to determine whether a qualified source is more advantageous to the Government, the order will be issued to Tecniplast USA, Inc. The NAICS Code/Size is 332999/500 Employees. This procurement is to be processed using Simplified Acquisition Procedures in conjunction with FAR Part 12 Commercial Item Acquisition of Commercial Items.
