Description

PRE-SOLICITATION NOTICE Provide for and furnish all labor, superintendence, materials, tools, equipment, transportation, licenses, certificates, insurance, temporary protection, and other items designated under the provisions of this contract Install Soft Water System Building 1, project number 585-11-115 necessary for the installation new soft water system and hard water distribution system for Building 1 of the VA Medical Center Iron Mountain as outlined in the contract specifications and as shown on the contract drawings. When project is complete the system shall be fully functional, programmed, personnel trained in usage, commissioned and integrated into the domestic water supply system. Work includes removal of the existing soft water system, new backflow preventers for the new system, modification to domestic water piping configurations in the subbasement of Building 1. Work also includes the installation of a hard water riser from the subbasement to the 7th floor of building 1. This is 90 percent mechanical work for the pipe fitting, installation of the soft water system, insulation, and is 10% electrical work. All work is to be completed within 6 months after the issuance of the notice to proceed. This construction project is 100% Small Business set aside. The solicitation will be issued on/about August 27, 2011 with the bid opening on/about September 27, 2011. The bidder is responsible to monitor and download any amendments from Fedbizops which may be issued to this solicitation. In accordance with Public Law 109-461, the Veterans Benefits, Healthcare and Information Technology Act of 2006. Pursuant to 38 USC 8127(d), competition is restricted to VOSB construction firms. The project magnitude range is between $250,000 - $500,000. The North American Industry Classification Code (NAICS) for this procurement is 238220; size standard $14 Million applies. In accordance with FAR 52.204-7, Required Central Contractor Registration. Firms may obtain CCR information at http://www.ccr.gov.
