Description

RFQ The DLA Contracting Services Office Philadelphia intends to solicit on a sole source basis with Verizon Business Network Services of Ashburn, VA for the acquisition of ISDN PRI NRC and MRC Speed 1.544 - Local Loop PRI included lines. This equipment will be installed at the Defense Logistics Agency in Philadelphia, PA 19111. The required delivery of these items is expected 45 days after contract award. The rationale for this sole source effort is as follows: DLA Troop Support has a requirement to update the phone lines to make them compatible with the Voice Over IP project. DLA is a tenant and does not own the building the current phone lines are in. The Navy owns the property and has chosen Verizon to be the phone provider for the complex. It would cost a substantial amount of money to have another contractor install all new lines and equipment as Verizon will not allow other vendors to use its equipment. A sole source contract to Verizon is needed in order to update the current Verizon lines in order to proceed with the Voice Over IP project. Please see Note 22. The RFQ for these services will be issued along with this Synopis under SP4701-11-Q-0219.
