Description
The USMS Special Operations Group serves as the tactical enforcement arm of the United States Marshals Service. USMS-SOG is required to operate in extreme environments and all types of climate and conditions. The uniform shirt current issued by SOG to all operators is manufactured by Tac Wear. USMS SOG has been using this shirt since 2009 with much success. The shirts have proven to withstand the abuse and punishment associated with SOG deployments and training. USMS SOG has tested and evaluated similar shirt designs from other manufacturers and they failed to perform to the standards of the Tac Wear. The Tac Wear shirts perform well due to the moisture wicking, antibacterial (anti odor) and Velcro resistance. The new design incorporates a lower crew neck, gusseted material under the sleeves and side panels. The USMS SOG custom shirt will be made with Coolmax Extreme with fresh FX fibers. The Coolmax fibers wick sweat away from the skin to keep the wearer cool and dry. As it is fiber based performance, the wicking ability will last for the life of the garment. The fresh FX is a pure silver fiber that is part of the fiber; the silver kills the bacteria in the wearer's sweat, thus killing the odors. This fiber based silver lasts for the life of the garment as well as it is fiber based. Tac Wear works with their material partners to ensure that the materials are the proper weight to resist Velcro tears and pulls and to bush the interior to make the shirts comfortable next to the skin. This reduces any chance of chafing or rubbing. Tac Wear also uses Lycra thread in the Coolmax material to give the garment the proper stretch for comfort and recovery to retain the garment's shape. The specific item numbers USMS SOG is looking to purchase are as follows: CLR002 - Coolmax Extreme with fresh FX short sleeve crew neck shirt. - Tan color - Moisture wicking for the life of garment. - Anti bacterial for the life of the garment. - Velcro resistant material. - styled as per US Marshal requirement.
