- Description
- The National Park Service intends to issue a prospectus on Thursday, August 18, 2011, for proposals to operate a food and beverage operation at the Charlestown Navy Yard unit of Boston National Historical Park. It is expected that the new contract will be effective January 2012 and will end December 31, 2021. The Director, pursuant to 36 CFR Part 51, has determined that the existing Concessioner is not a preferred Offeror for the Contract to be awarded. The term of the new Concession Contract will be for approximately ten years. The exact length of the term will be determined when the effective date is determined, at the time of Contract execution. The prospectus will be issued on August 18, 2011, for a 60-day response period under the terms described in the prospectus, with proposals due on October 18, 2011, no later than 4:00 p.m. (Eastern Time). Any offer, including that of the existing Concessioner, must be received by the Chief of Concessions, National Park Service, 200 Chestnut Street, Philadelphia PA 19106 by this date in order to be evaluated and considered for award of a Concession Contract. There is a printing cost recovery charge of $50 per copy to be delivered via Federal Express or $40 per copy if picked up in person. Checks or money orders (no cash or credit accepted) must be payable to the National Park Service; and you must include a business address (no post office box) to receive a Federal Express package. Prospectus packages will be available by contacting Josh Yocum, Concessions Specialist, National Park Service, 200 Chestnut Street, Philadelphia PA 19106. Telephone inquiries may be directed to 215-597-1904. Additionally, the prospectus will be available for review, after August 18, 2011, at http://concessions.nps.gov/prospectuses.htm. If you choose to retrieve a copy of the prospectus from the website please notify Josh Yocum so you can be placed on a mailing list to receive modifications and other correspondence. A site visit has been scheduled for September 20, 2011. If you would like to participate in the site visit you must RSVP to the Park Commercial Services office at 617-242-5636 for additional information regarding time and location and to reserve a spot. Potential Offerors are encouraged to visit the Concession operation and facilities, however the National Park Service will perform only one site visit on the date identified above. Questions in response to this prospectus are due in writing to the address above no later than 4:00 p.m. (Eastern Time) on September 22,2011.
