Description
The Defense Logistics Agency, DLA Maritime Norfolk, Norfolk Naval Shipyard Contracting Office, intends to negotiate a Firm Fixed Price contract for a Milling Attachment for a Betts Shaft Lathe. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 333512 (Machine Tool Manufacturing) and the procurement will be 100% small business set aside. The lathe will be acquired in accordance with FAR (Federal Acquisition Regulation) Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items and FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The line item is as follows: Item 0001 Milling Attachment for Betts Shaft Lathe, with the following characteristics: 1) Block style milling spindle, Setco type 4305MY.61608 2) Type A belt-driven motor package, Setco Spindle Drive 61608 3) Variable frequency drive, Setco type F600229 10 HP-14 Amp capacity 460 volt input 4) 12.00" wide dovetail slide-hand feed - 5" travel, Setco type DS12-FSIY.61608 5) Angle plate (26"H x 13"D) for mounting to compound slide on Betts shaft lathe. Scope: must have capability of being mounted to the compound of Betts shaft lathe. When mounted, the spindle center line of item 1 must be the same height as the Betts shaft lathe spindle center line. The lathe spindle center line is 3.00" above the top surface of the lathe compound. The components shall be required to interface with Setco equipment. Brand name or equal applies. If quoting on an equal item, the manufacturer name, part/model number, and essential characteristics must be provided. The solicitation number is SPMYM1-11-T-0154 and a copy will be posted on or before 22August2011. Technical questions must be written and sent by email (kyra.fagan@navy.mil) or by fax (757) 396-9895. Potential offerors are hereby notified that the solicitation and any subsequent amendments will only be available by downloading the documents at either www.neco.navy.mil or www.fedbizopps.gov, as this office no longer issues hard-copy solicitations. By submitting a proposal, the vendor will be self-certifying that neither it nor its principal corporate officials and owners are currently suspended, debarred, or otherwise ineligible to receive contracts from any Federal agency. Through its submission, the vendor acknowledges the requirement that a prospective awardee must be registered in the Central Contract Registration (CCR) database prior to award, during performance, and through final payment of any contract resulting from this solicitation, except for award to foreign vendors for work to be performed outside the United States. Lack of registration in the CCR will render the vendor ineligible for award.
