This is a SOURCES SOUGHT request only. This is NOT a solicitation for proposals, proposal abstracts, or quotations. This notice is published for market research purposes only. This notice is open to qualified business sources of all sizes with an FSS Schedule - Professional and Allied HealthCare Staffing Services. Information is sought regarding: (1) the availability and capability of all qualified business sources; (2) whether qualified business sources are small businesses, service-disabled, veteran-owned small businesses; (a) small businesses; veteran-owned small businesses; woman-owned small businesses; or small disadvantaged businesses; and (3) size classification relative to the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for the potential acquisition. Requests for a solicitation will not receive a response. The purpose of this sources sought synopsis is to gain knowledge of potential qualified sources. The Government is seeking potential FSS sources for a Locum Orthopaedic Surgeon. The Veterans Affairs Montana Healthcare System, Fort Harrison, Montana has a requirement for a full time equivalent of 40 hours per week locum tenens Orthopaedic Surgeon to provide orthopaedic surgical services. The anticipated period of performance is approximately 90 days with an estimated start date of October 1, 2011 through December 31, 2011. The primary area of responsibility is to perform and manage all phases of orthopaedic surgical intervention with emphasis on major joint arthroplasty. Clinical duties include the treatment from pre-operative evaluations through the post-operative phase. The surgeon will be responsible for managing the care of His/her hospitalized surgical patients. Work includes but is not limited to the following: "Outpatient and Inpatient clinical duties "Operating room duties will include a high volume of orthopaedic procedures with a primary emphasis on total joint replacements. "Some administrative duties may be required. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS/KEY PERSONNEL "Education: Degree of doctor of medicine. "Licensure and Registration. Must have a current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine and surgery in a State, Territory, Commonwealth of the United States (i.e., Puerto Rico), or the District of Columbia. "Board Certification in Orthopaedic Surgery, successful completion of an Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME)-or American Osteopathic Association (AOA) - accredited residency in orthopaedic surgery AND/OR Current certification or active participation in the examination process leading to certification in orthopaedic surgery by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery or the American Osteopathic Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. Place of Performance: Facilities Located in the Fort Harrison, Montana area.
