Description
In accordance with FAR Part 13 Simplified Acquisition Procedures and as documented consistent with FAR 13.501, The National Institutes of Health (NIH) National Institute Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) has a requirement to procure the services of a consultant who is an expert in adult and pediatric urology, is a board-certified clinical urologist and has advanced knowledge of the physiology of urological systems, and clinical investigation in urology. The urology consultant will assist the staff members of DKUHD who have taken over the project administration of the Urology programs. The urology consultant will provide assistance and knowledge in regards to urinary tract and disorders of the blood and blood-forming organs, urologic chronic pelvic pain disorders, Women's Urological Health and urinary incontinence. However, the consultant will be called for their knowledge on Kidney: end-stage renal disease, kidney disease of diabetes, IgA nephropathy, hemolytic uremic syndrome, polycystic kidney disease, hypertensive nephrosclerosis, acute renal failure, and fluid and electrolyte disorders. Bladder (lower urinary tract): benign prostatic hyperplasia, urinary tract infections, stones, impotence, urinary incontinence and interstitial cystitis. Blood and blood-forming organs: sickle cell disease, Cooley's anemia (thalassemia), and hemochromatosis. Represent NIDDK in interactions with urology professional groups, such as the American Urological Association and patient advocacy organizations; Assist in the counseling of grant applications in urology; Advise NIDDK on programs to address needs for urology research manpower. This procurement will be under Part 13 of the FAR. Interested vendors may identify in writing their interest with a capability statement to the Contracting Office prior to the closing date of this notice. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, all responses received, before the closing date of this announcement, will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed acquisition is based upon responses to this notice and is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. It is anticipated that the Request for Quotation (RFQ) NIHLM2011158 will be available fifteen (15) days after the release of this notice. Receipt of quotations will be due seven (7) days after the release of the RFQ. NO HARD COPIES WILL BE PROVIDED. Notification of any amendments to the solicitation will only be made at the Federal Business Opportunities website. IT IS THE SOLE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE OFFEROR TO VIEW THE WEBSITE FOR ANY AMENDMENTS ISSUED TO THE SOLICITATION. The Dun and Bradstreet Number (DUNS), the Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN) and the certification of business size shall be included.
