Description
Title: Knauer High Performance Liquid Chromatography System to fit into a BioSafety Hood No Larger than 8.9" x 15.3" and No Taller than 5.3" in Size NOTICE OF INTENT TO ISSUE A PURCHASE ORDER. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Poxivirus Branch, 1600 Clifton Road, Atlanta, GA 30329 hereby announces its intent to issue a purchase order to Icon Scientific, Inc. for a Knauer high performance liquid chromatorgraphy system. A high performance liquid chromatography system is needed for the purification of poxviruses. Due to the hazardous nature of the purification, this procedure must be performed in a BioSafety hood. The pumps must be able to pump at 50ml/mn, be Bio-inert and also have washout ports to reduce the salt crystallization caused from the buffers that must be used. The software must control gradient formation, the UV detector, as well as an automated injection valve and a fraction collector valve which can collect based on time, slope or peak elution. Each individual module MUST be NO LARGER than 8.9" x 15.3" and NO TALLER than 5.3". Responsible sources that believe they possess the expertise and capabilities identified above are encouraged to submit to the Contracting Officer within 15 days from the posting date of this notice, their written capabilities statement and pricing information in the format they choose, not to exceed 10 pages. Please forward the capability statement and pricing information to Rebecca Mullenax, Purchasing Agent, Reference 000HCVLE-2011-01870, Centers for Disease Control, NIOSH, ATTN: Rebecca Mullenax, MS: GD, 1095 Willowdale Road, Morgantown, WV 26505. All vendors must be registered in the Central Contractor Registry (CCR) prior to an award of a federal contract. The website is: www.ccr.gov. The Government will review any/all capabilities statements and pricing information submitted and determine if other qualified sources do exist that could provide this requirement. Information received in response to this announcement will be used solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. If no affirmative responses are received within 15 days, in accordance with FAR 13.106-1(b)(1), negotiations will be conducted with Icon Scientific, Inc., 12613 High Meadow Road, North Potomac, MD 20878, as the only source and a purchase order will be issued without any additional notices being posted.
