- This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared inaccordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation. Proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Solicitation number N65236-11-R-0107 is issued as a request for quote (RFQ). The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-53. The Government anticipates awarding a Firm-Fixed Price, Commercial item contract in accordance with the procedures prescribed in FAR Subpart 13.5. The applicable NAICS code is 334111 with a size standard of 1,000 employees. This acquisition is for a high performance computing (HPC) system to include eighty (80) Application Servers, two (2) I/O Servers, and one (1) Management Server. The specifications are as follows: See Attachment 1 for Requirements. See Attachment 2 for Statement of Compliance that requires an affirmative response for each listed specification before an offeror will be eligible for award. See Attachment 3 - Justification and Approval for details. All servers are required to use Intel chipsets and processors, Red Hat Enterprise Linux Operating Systems, and Mellanox QDR InfinBand Host Channel Adapters (HCA), and IO servers are required to use QLogic Fibre Channel Host Bus Adapters (HBA). The system requires three standalone QLogic InfiniBand switches. These requirements are to maintain compatibility with existing HPC systems. Please see Attachment 3 - Justification and Approval for details. Proposals shall be submitted electronically no later than 7 September 2011, 1:30 pm Eastern Time. Offerors must comply with the detailed instructions for the format and content of the proposal. Proposals that do not comply with the detailed instructions may be considered unacceptable and may render the offeror ineligible for award. See the addenda to 52.212-1, 52.212-4, 52.212-2, and Attachment 2 Statement of Compliance. To ensure the efficient conduct of this acquisition, questions regarding the synopsis/solicitation will only be accepted until 29 August 2011 5:30 pm Eastern Time. Please submit all questions via e-mail, no telephone questions will be accepted. Late questions will not be accepted. Questions will be gathered and answers posted publicly before close of the solicitation. When posing questions, please keep in mind that these questions will be posted on the internet for all potential offerors to see. Please take care to avoid making statements about your products, pricing, capabilities, what is possible/impossible, etc. Any inquiries submitted will be posted EXACTLY AS SUBMITTED, unless it is in the Government's interest to consolidate duplicate questions.
