- This is a NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT using Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 6.302-1, for Other than Full and Open Competition and FAR Part 13.5, Test Program for Certain Commercial Items. The Aberdeen Installation Contracting Division, 4118 Susquehanna Avenue, Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD 21005 has a requirement to procure the following item(s): On-call periodic maintenance and calibration and emergency remedial service of the listed transducer models: Transducer, Motion/inertial, Model MP-1/GDDDQEEE-100, S/Ns 208, 209, 210, 211. Transducer, Motion/inertial, Model MP-1/GCCCQBBB-100, S/Ns 225, 226, 227, 228, 229. Transducer, Motion/inertial, Model MP-1/GCCCQBBB-100, S/Ns 666, 678, 679, 759, 760. Transducer, Motion, Model QRS14-00050-102, NSN. Under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other will satisfy the agency requirements. The Government intends to award a sole source contract to BEI Sensors & Systems Company, Inc., doing business as Systron Donner Inertial 2700 Systron Drive, Concord, CA, 94518-1355, the manufacturer of the transducers. Systron Donner Inertial owns the design data and possesses test procedures, spare parts, specialized maintenance/calibration apparatus, proprietary schematics, and drawings, all of which are vital to accomplish the required maintenance and calibration. The Government will consider all responses received within 5 days after date of publication of this synopsis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed purchase order based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement no later than 12:00 PM Eastern Daylight Time, September 2, 2011. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government in future procurements. All responsible parties should submit queries to this requirement to Mr. David P. Wallace (david.p.wallace6.civ@mail.mil). This announcement is not a request for competitive proposals.
