- The Army Contracting Command - Rock Island intends to award a sole source purchase order to RACOM, 201 W. State Street, Marshalltown, IA 50158-5841 for access to the RACOM trunked radio network using RACOM portable, mobile, and base radios. This effort is for the Period of Performance of 01 September, 2011 through 31 August, 2012. This action is awarded in support of Rock Island Arsenal Garrison Emergency Services. This action will be awarded under FAR 12 - Commercial Acquisition Programs and under the authority of FAR 13.106-1 (b) Only One Source Reasonably Available. This synopsis is being published for subcontracting purposes only. No solicitation is being issued. Offers from concerns other than the above are not solicited. This announcement is not a request for quotations. The POC for this notice is David Gannon, david.a.gannon.civ@mail.mil, 309-782-0868. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. Any other interested organizations must submit a written statement of their capabilities and qualifications to fulfill this requirement to the identified point of contact as soon as possible, but not later than 5:00 p.m. CST on 08/31/2011. Emailed statements are acceptable, but the senders bear full responsibility to ensure complete transmission and timely receipt. All inquires and concerns must be addressed in writing to david.a.gannon.civ@mail.mil. Any such statement of capabilities and qualifications received by the deadline will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
