Description
This is not a PreSolicitation but is the actual combined Solicitation and Request for Quotes. The U.S. Geological Survey, Updated National Mineral Resource Assessment project (uNMRA) has a requirement for Services, non-personal, to provide all equipment, labor, travel, and materials (unless otherwise provided herein) necessary for collecting and analyzing rock samples. The contractor must supply the USGS with 200 conodont samples containing between 5 and 100 individual conodont elements from middle and upper Devonian rocks in Iowa-Illinois Basin and Alberta, Canada. One hundred high-resolution stratigraphic samples are required from a single contiguous statigraphic section spanning the Middle varcus through the disparills conodont zones from the Iowa-Illinois Basin. An additional 80 samples are required from a triangularis through the marginifera conodont zones are required from the Iowa-Illinois Basin. Twenty samples are also required from a contiguous Frasnian (MN conodont zone 4 though 10) stratigraphic section in Alberta, Canada. Conodonts in the samples must be identified and samples must be zoned to at subzone resolution according to international conodont zones. The same sampled stratigraphic sections must have already been characterized by photographs and by detailed lithologic logs with sedimentologic and sequence stratigraphic interpretation, conodont biostratigraphy, and by carbon isotope stratigraphy sampled and analysed by the contractor at a resolution of better than 1 sample per foot. Identifiable brachiopods in any of the sections must be identified and a subset of 25 samples from the stratigraphic sections must be included for isotopic and chemical analysis.
