- *** Notice of Site Visit*** Wright Patterson AFB will be conducting a Site Visit with regards to this possible future acquisition on 09 September, 2011. This Site Visit will give interested vendors the opportunity view the test chamber and surrounding area in which the Fire Suppression System will be installed. The gathered information from this Site Visit will assist vendors in preparing quotations should an acquisition occur. The details of this Site Visit are as follows: Date: 09 September, 2011 Time: 0900-1000 Location: Corner of 7th and E. Street Building 20 A Area B, Wright-Patterson AFB, OH, 45433 Attendees: 2 company representatives will be granted access per contractor Interested Vendors must meet these minimum requirements for their Standalone Test Chamber Fire Suppression System: 1) Clean Agent must be either Inergen (IG-541) or FM-200 (HFC-227). 2) System must be capable of two shots. (primary and secondary) Assume that space is an unoccupied space during the release of the agent. The test chamber is not manned while undergoing testing and proper training of individuals can be performed on procedures for opening Test Chamber after release of agent (one shot and two shots). 3) Agent is to be stored in 2nd Floor Room North of Test Chamber which is within 30' of the Test Chamber. Room is kept between 60-80 degrees F at all times. 4) Audible/Visual Alarms will be placed at each entry to the Test Chamber (2). 5) System must be capable of being an isolated stand-alone system, however: Have provisions for tie-in to building alarm system. Have provisions for manual operation only. Have provisions for manual/auto operation. 6) Heat/Fire detectors must be suitable for environment. The temperature of the Test Chamber normally rises to as high as 150 deg F during testing. 7) Manual release levers are to be placed in control room (test observing area) approximately 500 feet away (cable length) for remote activation. 8) Local lockouts will be placed at each entry to the Test Chamber (2). 9) Test Chamber is approximately 21,000 cubic feet including cross piping, voids, and displaced volume. It is 20 feet in diameter and 65' in length. 10) Connections to Test Chamber wall must be made of flexible materials (steel braided hose). 11) A dedicated 110 VAC circuit will be provided to the releasing panel. 12) An Air Tight Integrity test will be performed if needed. Sealing/Caulking of penetrations into Test Chamber will be performed by WPAFB personnel. 13) All design/engineering, plans and flow calculations, permits, hardware, wiring, misc warning signs, and labor must be included with the price. 14) The fire hazard is assumed to be electrical (440 VAC) or flammable liquids (hydraulic fluid or lube oil). 15) Project will be installed during normal business hours. 16) Warranty of equipment should be at least 1-year from time of shipment. 17) Labor warranty should be at least 90 days. 18) Class 1 ozone depleting substances (ODS) must not be used in the design, manufacture, delivery, test, operation, or maintenance of the system, item component, or process. 19) Design and installation to be in accordance to applicable WPAFB, Ohio, and National Electrical, Building, and Fire Codes. Participation in this event will be at no cost to the government. All travel, lodging, and transportation arrangements will be at expense of the contractor. Base access and participation in this event must be coordinated with Mark Patterson by 1600 EST, 07 September, 2011.
