- Description
- Closed-loop steam-injection water heating/cooling systems Specifications: We are looking heating system for jacketed glass-lined reactors. The working volume of the reactor is 1000 gallons and will be filled with aqueous solutions. The reactor jacket has a volume is 162 gallons and has a heating area of 127 sq. ft. The heat transfer coefficient for the vessel is estimated at 55 BtU/hr ft2 °F. The heating system must be capable of producing a jacket temperature of at least 230°F. However, for future capabilities, all components, with the exception of the circulating pump, must be capable of operating the circulating loop to at least 300°F and 90 psi. The heating system must be capable of heating 1000 gallons of stirred water in the reactor from ambient to 140°F within 60 minutes. The system must be controlled in a cascade configuration wherein the master control loop, using the internal reactor temperature, controls the set-point of the jacket control loop. The controller must be capable of receiving the master input as a 0 20 mA process signal (converted from reactor RTD). The circulating heating system must use a steam-injection heater as the heat source (steam up to 170psi is available). The steam to the injector must operate using a pneumatically controlled actuator. The circulating system must also be equipped with controlled cooling capabilities using municipal water as the cooling water source. The cooling water valve must operate using a pneumatically controlled actuator. The heating system must be equipped with a back pressure relief valve (BPRV) adjustable from 30 to 90 psig. Steam condensate and water released from the BPRV will be sent to drain. The circulating pump must be sized appropriately for the system heating and cooling requirements and must be capable of pumping water at appropriate flow rates to the jacket elevated 20 feet above the pump. Bidders must supply one quote for a fully operational turn-key skid with the specifications above. Bidders must also supply a second quote for only system components that includes: steam injector, pneumatic steam valve, pneumatic cooling water valve and back pressure relief valve that are sized and meet the operating criteria specified above.
