- NASA/ Kennedy Space Center (KSC) plans to issue a Sole Source Request for Quotation(RFQ) with Great Minds in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM), Los Angeles,CA, for a sponsorship at the HENAAC 2011 Career Conference and Awards Show from October 6through October 8, 2011. Great Minds in STEM is the organizer of the conference and isthe only known vendor that can provide this sponsorship.This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP).The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12.Interested firmsother than the sole source cited shall submit in writing to the identified point ofcontact, their qualifications/capabilities and quotes, providing a description insufficient detail to show that the services offered meets the Government's requirement tothe identified point of contact not later than 7:00 a.m. eastern standard time, September15, 2011 at NASA/Kennedy Space Center, Attn: Donny Wood, OP-OS, Kennedy Space Center FL32899, donald.wood@nasa.gov, or fax to (321) 867-1188. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determiningwhether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by theGovernment not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis,based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. All responsible maysubmit an offer which shall be considered by the agency. An Ombudsman has been appointed.See NASA Specific Note 'B'.
