- NASA, KSC has a requirement for the following items: International Battery LithiumIon Iron Phosphate Backup Battery System: International Battery Part # IB 28VDC 027 UPS160 FHE SX SPF DS CC which meets all Government Minimum Specifications (NASA, KSCSpecification #625EPC00003). Quantity/Unit: 2 each. FOB Destination. Delivery Date: 12weeks after receipt of order.NASA, KSC intends to purchase the required items from International Battery, themanufacturer of the backup battery systems, as they are the only known source for theproducts. The International Battery Backup Battery System has been evaluated and testedand meets all of the Governments Minimum Specifications (NASA, KSC Specification#625EPC00003).This system is the only known product that meets the NASA, KSCSpecification #625EPC00003 and has the following required unique specifications: batterymodule provides required energy to sustain a 3 hour discharge at 100A per hour withoutdipping below the 25V minimum; and system can be packaged into an existing chassisassembly suitable for integration into a 19 inch rack in that its combined height iswithin 42 inches and it can fit into a standard EIA/ECA-310 19 inch rack.The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12.Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform theeffort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local timeon Sept. 17, 2011. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for thepurpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and opencompetition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretionof the government.Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice.All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency.NASA Clause 1852.215-84, Ombudsman, is applicable.
