Description
Belgium currently has Lockheed Martin Sniper Advanced Targeting Pods (ATP) and urgently needs to acquire accessories and rights to the Depot Lay-in Material rotable pool to improve the operational capability and availability of the pods for both Belgium for training purposes and Afghanistan in support of ongoing wartime operations. This RFP resulted in a sole source award of a firm fixed price definitive contract to the contractor. The current Belgian Defense (BE Def) participation in the NATO operations in Afghanistan (ISAF) shows that the accessories being purchased as part of this effort (10 ea Digital Data Recorders, 7 ea Digital Cartridge Interface Units) are part of the standard aircraft configuration for every type of mission. In order to support this operational commitment, BE Def needs to improve the operational capability of the Sniper pods in both Belgium for training purposes and Afghanistan in support of ongoing wartime operations. The sole source requirement is customer directed and has statutory authority thru 10 USC 2304(c)(4) as implemented by FAR 6.302-4; International Agreement and International Program Directive (IPD) and Letter of Offer and Acceptance (LOA) Amendment 07 dated 29 Sep 09.
