Description

NAVSUP Fleet Logistics Center, San Diego Contracting Department, IAW FAR Part 12, Commercial Items, intends to award a Sole Source Firm Fixed Price Contract to Klinger Educational Products (112-19 14th Road, College Point, NY 11356). The Naval Postgraduate School (NPS) has a requirement for two distinct items from Klinger Educational Products. The first item is a Pockels Effect Kit which allows for the demonstration of the Pockels effect as well as provide ways to implement the effect of transmission of audio-frequency signals. The second product is for two He-Ne laser kits which must have the capability to adjust to the two high-reflecting mirrors within the laser tube. The kit must also be able to allow for the study of intensity distribution within the laser tube, influence the position of the laser tube on the emitted power, and verify the stability condition for optical cavities. The proposed contract action is for commercial supplies for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under authority of FAR 6.302-1. Interested persons may identify their intent and capability to respond to the requirement by advising the Contract Specialist (see contact information below). This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, any and all capable parties that can meet the requirement shall contact the Contract Specialist by 16 September 2011 and will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract is based upon responses to this notice and is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The applicable NAICS code is 334516.
