Description

The Department of Veterans Affairs, VISN 15, Heartland Contracting Office in accordance with FAR 6.302.1 (only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements) intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Nuance Communications, Inc. of Melbourne, FL, 32934 for an Annual renewal of Service Maintenance Contract and licenses for the Nuance Dragon Natural Speaking voice activated dictation system. NAICS 541519 applies Small business size standard is $25 Million. The Contractor shall provide all parts, materials, labor, supervision and technical support necessary to perform all aspects of maintenance, upgrades and service of the Nuance DNS voice activated dictation system at the VISN 15 Western Orbit (Kansas City, MO) location for the period from October 1, 2011 or date of award (whichever is later) through September 30, 2011 with two additional 12 month option periods. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. It is not a solicitation or request for offers. No solicitation package is available. A determination not to compete is solely within the discretion of the Government. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government. Responses must be received no later than 1:00 pm CT on September 16, 2011.
