Description
AMENDMENT 002 BEGINS The purpose of this modification is to issue corrections and additions to the previously posted documents. The closing date and time for submission of proposals is extended 48 hours. Proposals must be received not later than 3:00 pm Wednesday, September 14, 2011. Offerors must acknowledge receipt of this amendment in Block 19 of the SF 1442 submitted with their proposal. 1.Text of Attachment titled "P09 FINAL RFP RENOVATE BLDG 89", Page 3, item 2.f.is deleted in entirety and replaced with: "Provide a design/power/data for the maximum number of 6'-0" by 6'-0" modular workstations with ADA appropriate aisles and exits. The workstation actual size may increase and quantity may be reduced during the design phase but the 6'x6' cube is the basis of design. Furniture and partitions will be provided and installed by the VA." 2.Add two attachments: a.P09 Asbestos Notice for Building 89 b.P09 Minneapolis Specific Specs AMENDMENT 002 ENDS AMENDMENT 001 BEGINS The purpose of this amendment is to add additional work and respond to questions and clarifications raised in the Site Visit conducted August 17. A list of clarifications and additional information follows. The closing date and time for submission of proposals is unchanged. Proposals must be received not later than 3:00 pm Monday, September 12, 2011. Offerors must acknowledge receipt of this amendment in Block 19 of the SF 1442 submitted with their proposal. All questions regarding this project must be submitted in writing not later than 3:00 pm September 7 to the issuing office via email to Kathryn.Crowthers@va.gov. 1.Phasing of project is described on drawing 618-11-214 with the following exceptions: A.Replace sentence A3.1.A." The building will be unoccupied when construction is taking place. " with the following: "The dining and entry portion of the building, noted with hatching on the plan, will be occupied during Phase 1. The Ballroom portion of the building, noted as Phase 1 on the plan, will be occupied during Phase 2 construction." B.Add the following to paragraph A3.2.a.: Asbestos abatement will be accomplished in the areas by phase as described elsewhere, except the kitchen WILL NOT be abated in either phase. C.Revise sentence A3.2.i. "The dining room will be occupied by administrative VA staff throughout the construction period." To read the following:" The dining room will be occupied by administrative VA staff throughout the Phase 1 construction period." D.Add new sentence A3.2.j.:"The kitchen space is not in this scope of work except that certain services, wiring, etc. may traverse the space above the existing ceiling." 2.Site Work: A.Provide 4" raceway from north edge of site, near the cell tower location and the tele-communications pedestal, to the new Point-of-Presence (Demarc) room near the double doors at the east entrance of the kitchen. Install below grade the entire distance entering the building below grade in the basement. Remove entire slab on grade in area near the raceway entrance to the building. Provide pull-tape in empty raceway; confirm exact location of stub-ups. This installation to be completed prior to November 15. 2011. B.The smoker shelter and services to it are to remain as is. C.Structural: Provide a reinforced concrete blast wall, on a poured foundation, between the existing power transformer and the natural gas service. Provide suitable mechanical protection for the gas riser pipe full height on the exterior wall. 3.Architectural: A.The IRM (Information Resources Management) or DATA room will be located on the main floor in the space next to the double doors exiting the kitchen to the east. Delete all references to this room being in the basement. Provide security system as described in the scope. B.Conference rooms and offices defined by gypsum board walls need only be installed to the bottom of the new ceiling, not to the structure. C.Phase 2 work includes demolition of the existing "Dining Room " toilets and adjacent office. The resulting spaces can be used for offices or conference rooms. 4.Structural: A.Demolition of the basement walls as shown on plan only if confirmed that the demolished walls are NOT load bearing. 5.Mechanical: A.Installation of fire protection and fire detection/notification is not required in the kitchen area under either Phase 1 or 2, however, the fire protection system entrance shall be sized to allow the addition of the kitchen space at a future date. B.Delete paragraph requiring a split system DX system ¦.it is being provided and installed by Owner. C.Revise sentence:" Replace existing rooftop unit service the ballroom side of Building 89 with a new single zone rooftop air handling unit with gas fired modulating heat, multi-stage DX cooling coils, full air-side economizers, and DDC controls. " with the following: "Replace existing rooftop unit service the ballroom side of Building 89 with TWO NEW single zone rooftop air handling units with gas fired modulating heat, multi-stage DX cooling coils, full air-side economizers, and DDC controls." 6.Electrical: A.Delete the sentence: "Revise existing service wiring to a new service panel on the opposite side of the existing wall of the existing service." The existing service panel is acceptable as is. B.Delete the sentence;" Provide vertical 4-post rack secured to the floor with adequate number of Panduit routers and cable management systems to serve the office, conference room, and office cubicles." Replace with the following;"Provide a full height cabinet, Great Lakes 72" cabinet GL720E-2432F10 with vented removable side panels (7211-32ELL) and vertical cable management (VLB-7232) or equal. Provide cable management systems to serve the Phase 1 office, conference room, and office cubicles." C.Electrical and data services to the cubicles shall be by "power/data poles" provided by the VA with the cubicle furniture. AMENDMENT 001 ENDS
