- Strategic Methodology Training This is a SOURCES SOUGHT announcement only. There is no solicitation available at this time. Requests for a solicitation will not receive a response. The 42nd Contracting Squadron is conducting market research to determine the existence of potential business sources. Air Force Research Institute requires the potential offeror to provide a training course that will teach a methodology program that focuses on critical thinking that is specifically applicable to military and airpower strategy and operations. The training should use military history and scenarios to develop a methodology approach that addresses strategy and effects based operations that encompass future states, scoping the environment, centers of gravity, planning (campaign, phase, impact, and exit), measures of success, and plan critique (red teaming). Traditional business models that do not account for or address the nuances, circumstances and relationships specific to war, military conflict, and airpower are not acceptable. The estimated workload for this requirement is a 1-2 week course for 10-20 students. The training course will be taught in the first quarter of fiscal year 2012 between 1 Oct 2011 and 30 November 2011. Any suggested pricing should be per student with a total price for the event. Course will be taught at Maxwell AFB, AL. Government will provide reasonable logistical support (room, AV/IT support). The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 611430, Professional and Management Development Training. This industry comprises establishments primarily engaged in offering an array of short duration courses and seminars for management and professional development. Training for career development may be provided directly to individuals or through employers' training programs; and courses may be customized or modified to meet the special needs of customers. Instruction may be provided in diverse settings, such as the establishment's or client's training facilities, educational institutions, the workplace, or the home, and through diverse means, such as correspondence, television, the Internet, or other electronic and distance-learning methods. The training provided by these establishments may include the use of simulators and simulation methods. Dependent upon responses to this Sources Sought announcement, it is anticipated that a firm fixed price contract will be issued for this requirement. Interested and qualified sources are requested to provide a statement of current capability and letter of interest. Interested and qualified sources are requested to provide the following information: 1) Company name, point of contact, e-mail address, telephone and fax numbers, type of business and size, Cage Code and DUNS number; 2) a list of your most recent and relevant DoD or commercial contracts (not to exceed three) to include names, points of contact, phone numbers, value and type of contract, period of performance, and brief description; and 3) information telling us about your company and why you think you can perform this service. Respondents are asked to limit submissions to 5 pages (or less), or the minimum number of pages necessary to address the requirements specified in this announcement.
