- The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) intends to issue a sole source, firm fixed price purchase order to Applied Biosystems, 850 Lincoln Centre Drive, Foster City, CA 94404, for the following requirements: 1) Part Number 4462917, Personal Genome Machine Sequencer; 2) Part Number 4462918, Torrent Server and Suite Software; 3) Part Number ZG11SCIONPGMSYS, AB Assurance Ion PGM SYS 1PM; 4) Part Number 4466465, Ion Control Material Kit; 5) Part Number 4470001, Ion OneTouch System; 6) Part Number 4462923, Ion 314 Chip Kit; 7) Part Number 4469001, Ion Xpress Template Kit; 8) Part Number 4468997, Ion Sequencing Kit; 9) Part Number ZGEXSCONETOUCH, Rapid Exchange OneTouch; 10) Part Number 4468656, Ion Sphere Quality Control Kit; 11) Part Number 4469496, Ion 316 Chip Kit (8 pack); 12) Part Number 4464747, Ultra-Turrax Tube Drive from IKA for PGM; 13) Part Number 4466666, Ion Total RNA-SEQ Kit; and 14) Shipping Charges. This procurement will be processed under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. To the best of our knowledge, only Applied Biosystems will satisfy the Agency's requirement because this is the only vendor that can provide the equipment for using reagents that have been purchased from Applied Biosystems while utilizing specific protocols for current methods of sequence analysis. No solicitation is being issued. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes/proposals, however, all responsible sources may submit a capability statement which, if received by the response date, shall be considered by the Agency. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon the responses to this notice is solely within discretion of the Government.
