Description
Responses are due no later than 3:00 p.m. eastern standard time October 4, 2011. This is a Sources Sought Notice and is for informational purposes only. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS, QUOTATIONS OR BIDS. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Baltimore District, requests letters of interest from POTENTIAL PRIME CONSTRUCTION CONTRACTORS WITH BONDING CAPACITY OF $700M OR GREATER concerning the potential project described below. Responses to this sources sought announcement will be used by the Government to make appropriate acquisition decisions. NO SOLICITATION IS CURRENTLY AVAILABLE. Responses are to be sent via email to carlen.capenos@usace.army.mil no later than 3:00 p.m. eastern standard time October 4, 2011. Project Description: The project consists of design and construction of a concurrently maintainable, 60 MW technical data center, located at Ft. Meade, Maryland. Basic ancillary supporting design and construction services include, but are not limited to: excavation and grading, roadways, providing basic utility infrastructure, electrical service (primary power and temporary construction power), water, sewer, and communications infrastructure. The facility itself will consist of approximately 50K SF mission critical data center space with raised flooring and additional relative technical support and administrative space. Ancillary supporting facilities include, but are not limited to: water treatment facilities (pre and post), interim visitor control center, perimeter site security measures, fuel storage, thermal and potable water storage, chiller plant, fire suppression systems and electrical generator and UPS back up capacity, SCADA, and a new 150 MVA electrical sub-station. The schedule will be very aggressive. The project will be designed and constructed in accordance with the Uniform Federal Accessibility Standards (UFAS)/Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Accessibility Guidelines, and Antiterrorism Force Protection (ATFP) standards. Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC) to be an integral part of design consideration. Interested PRIME CONTRACTORS ONLY should submit a narrative demonstrating their experience in design-build $500M to $1B construction projects of similar nature as described above. Please include the following information in your response: details of similar projects, dates of construction, project references (including owner with phone number and email address), and project cost. Additionally, provide information on your bonding capability. Narratives shall be no longer than ten pages. Email responses are required and should be submitted to Carlen Capenos via carlen.capenos@usace.army.mil. Comments will be shared with the Government and the project design team, but otherwise will be held in strict confidence. Comments may be in any format, but must include submitter's name, phone number, and email address. PLEASE NOTE: AT THIS TIME, WE ARE ONLY INTERESTED IN RESPONSES FROM COMPANIES WHO HAVE THE ABILITY TO BE PRIME CONTRACTORS WITH BONDING CAPABILITY OF $700M+.
