Description
The Government intends to establish a sole source BPA with Edward Lifesciences, for heart valve therapy products under the authority of FAR 6.302. This notice is to meet the requirement of the Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery, Tripler Army Medical Center, HI. Products to be procured are used in open heart surgery to replace or repair the patients native incompetent heart valve, NAICS code 339112, Surgical and Medical Instrument Manufacturing. For item specifications, reference the redacted price list. The BPA will be awarded for a base year, period of performance 1 October 2011- 30 September 2012, plus four (4) option years. Calls will be placed against the BPA as required. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is NOT a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received within seven days after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Interested parties shall reply to Pacific Regional Contracting VIA EMAIL to paul.petro@us.army.mil. TELEPHONE REQUESTS WILL NOT BE HONORED. All inquiries must be received by 10:00 AM (HST) on 19 September 2011. To be considered for award, a firm must be registered in the DoD Central Contractor Registration (CCR). Register via the CCR Internet site at http://www.ccr.gov. No additional information shall be provided; no faxed submittals shall be accepted. This is NOT a request for proposals or quotations.
