Description
Andrews AFB LMR System Maintenance NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD SOLE SOURCE THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. This is a notice of intent to award a sole source contract under statutory authority 10 USC 2304(c)(1), set forth in Federal Acquisition Regulation 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements. The AFDW Contracting Unit, Andrews AFB, MD intends to negotiate a sole-source contract with Motorola Solutions, Inc., Columbia, MD, for preventative maintenance for all infrastructure of fixed network equipment associated with the ASTRO 25 Digital Communications System at Andrews AFB. The system in place, ASTOR 25 Digital Communication System was manufactured and installed by Motorola. Motorola maintains direct access to the complex stock of OEM parts, kits, assemblies and accessories that can be expedited for 24 hour turnaround as needed. Network monitoring is supported by remote diagnostic and restorable capabilities available thru Motoorola's off-site help desk support system. The Government intends to award a base plus two option years to Motorola Solutions, Inc. The base period of performance will be 1 October 2011 through 30 September 2012. All remaining option years will be awarded on a twelve-month basis thereafter. The authority for this non-competitive award is 41 USC 253(c)(1) as set forth in FAR 6.302-1. Interested concerns may identify their interest and submit a capability statement that demonstrates their ability to provide the required maintenance service. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive acquisition. This notice is NOT a request for competitive proposals. No solicitation is available. Therefore, requests for such documents will be soley within the discretion of the Government. Responses to FA7014-11-R-0038 must be in writing. All questions should be directed to Michael V. Lee at michael.lee@afncr.af.mil. If no affirmative responses are received by 4:00 PM EST on 29 September 2011, the Contracting Officer will proceed to issue a contract to Motorola Solutions, Inc.
