- Description
- The Saint Lawrence Seaway Development Corporation (Corporation) plans to solicit bids to remove and close an existing underground fuel storage facility comprised of two (2) 6000 gallon underground fuel storage tanks (USTs) and to furnish and to erect a new aboveground fuel storage facility comprised of two (2) modular self-contained aboveground storage tank (AST) systems. The new AST systems shall be comprised of one (1) 2,000 gallon tank for unleaded gasoline and one (1) 2,500 gallon tank for No. 2 low sulfur diesel fuel, shall be furnished with dispensers and other accessories and shall be installed in a new pre-engineered metal storage building measuring approximately 33 ft long by 14 ft wide at the Corporation's Maintenance Facility in Massena, New York. The building will have two (2) roll-type overhead doors and a personnel door and will be used to house the AST systems. For the UST closure, the project includes all excavation, removal and disposal of tanks and residual waste product, site assessment and report preparation, analytical services and site restoration. For the new AST facility the work includes site work, constructing concrete slabs, furnishing and constructing a metal building with an electrical system to serve the AST systems and furnishing and installing two (2) AST systems in the metal building. All work shall be in accordance with all applicable New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC) requirements. It will be necessary to complete the new AST facility before closing the existing UST facility.
