- Description
- Contractor will provide all equipment to remove and relocate all dirt and place all dirt to complete job as described in scope of work. Contractor that is awarded this contract will remove all excess dirt that is located in and around cell area of upper guide wall. The contractor will remove and grade dirt to a 3 to 1 grade, the dirt that is removed from the cell area will be taken approximately 12 inches below the face of the cell area. The work area is approximately 500 feet long and 85 feet wide on the upstream bank behind the upper river wall. With excess dirt moved to upper approach area and placed in an area approximately 150 feet long and 20 feet wide. The remaining dirt will be moved to the north side of the project using equipment for hauling large amount of material. The dirt that is transported will travel on the existing gravel road to the north side of the project. The contractor will remove the driftwood that is in the area to a spot that will be designated by the Lock Master for removal by Lock personal. Work shall be completed before 31 August 2012. The contractor will use extreme caution around and along the work site due to unexpected movement of dirt. The contractor shall provide a guide whenever he is approaching the work areas to ensure the equipment is in a safe area and that there is room for an escape should river bank start giving away due to equipment in the area.
