Description

The West Texas VA Health Care System (WTVAHCS), located in Big Spring, TX 79720, intends to negotiate a firm fixed price contract with Advanced Sterilization Products, a Johnson and Johnson Company, 33 Technology Drive, Irvine, CA 92618, on a sole source basis pursuant to FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirement. The acquisition will be accomplished using commercial item procedures in accordance with FAR Part 12 for the purchase of annual maintenance of one (1) EvoTech sterilization system. The contractor will be required to provide service Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. CST, and must be certified by Advanced Sterilization Products to provide any maintenance to the EvoTech system. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) is 811219. Any firms who wish to identify their interests and capability to provide this service must provide proof that authorization from the manufacturer has been attained by notifying the Contract Specialist no later than 10:00 AM Central Standard Time, October 16, 2011. Such notification must include any documentation that includes certifications and description of services that meets or exceeds that capabilities of the manufacturer. Notification shall be e-mailed or faxed to Jessica Roman, Contract Specialist, jessica.roman@va.gov, fax: 432-268-5001. Upon receipt of any such notifications, the Contracting Officer will determine whether to conduct a competitive procurement or proceed with the sole source negotiation. Responses received will be evaluated, however; a determination by the Government not to compete this proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no responses are received, the WTVHCS will proceed with the sole source negotiation with Advanced Sterilization Products. This is not a request for competitive proposals or quotes. All information received in response to this RFI that is marked as proprietary will be handled accordingly. In accordance with FAR 15.201(e), responses to this notice are not offers and cannot be accepted by the Government to form a binding contract. Responders are solely responsible for all expenses associated with responding to this RFI.
