- RFQ Solicitation No. A11PS01570 - Papago Quarters ImprovementsIssues Amendment No. 1, and provides responses to the questions received for this solicitation. Question 1 - Does Davis Bacon apply to this solicitation? Response: Yes, See solicitation page 5 paragraph 4. Question 2 - Do TERO fees apply? Response: See solicitation page 4. Question 3 - What are the quote submission instructions? Response: See solicitation page 42. Change quote submission date to: 9-16-2011 Question 4 - Question regarding plaster finish; Quarters # 27 Response: Provide textured finish similar to existing textured plaster finish. Question 5 - Question regarding exterior trim; Quarters #27 Response: "Door Trim, Window Trim, and exterior lights will also need to be removed" Question 6 - Will you consider additional scope item to replace roof on Quarters #6 Response: No, there will be no change in scope for listed quarters to include new roofing Question 7- Question regarding testing of 'recognized environmental conditions' trim, baseboards, etc (for asbestos & lead based contaminated elements) on Quarters # 9 Response: A formal report is not available at this time. We know that there is a presence of asbestos and lead in the facility. You are instructed to take safety precautions for both types of hazardous materials. Response: SOW; delete "All trim removal shall be replaced with new material and edges neatly caulked. All new and stripped materials shall be primed and painted according to the manufacturer's recommendations." Response: Delete "Color: to be determined by Facilities Manager Response: Add: "BASEBOARD - 296 LF, DOOR TRIM - 170 LF AND WINDOW TRIM - 150 LF, THROUGHOUT INTERIOR". Question 8 - SOW revision - Quarters # 28 Response: SOW; delete 'Remove and replace FRP on shower walls' and add "Remove existing tub wall panels and replace with new panels similar to existing" Question 9 - Quarters #30 Response: SOW: delete 'Install architectural 3-Tab Asphalt shingles' and add "Install architectural Asphalt shingles' Question 10 - Quarters #53 Response: SOW: delete 'Install architectural 3-Tab Asphalt shingles' and add "Install architectural Asphalt shingles' Question 11 - Quarters 53 COTR indicated there is currently sampling and reporting in progress under a separate contract. COTR will request reports/findings to have available for interested contractors. Response: A formal report is not available at this time. Add: "BASEBOARD - 419 LF, DOOR TRIM - 272 LF AND WINDOW TRIM - 176 LF, THROUGHOUT INTERIOR" Question 12 - Quarters #56 Due to low roof slope, can a different roof material/finish be utilized? (Recommendations for shingles, min. of 3:12 roof pitch; Response: No, provide asphalt shingles as stated in the SOW; SOW: delete 'Install architectural 3-Tab Asphalt shingles' and add "Install architectural Asphalt shingles' SOW; delete 'Replace all damaged sheathing on a unit price per sheet of Plywood' and add "Replace all damaged sheathing of decking similar to existing"
