- This is a Notice of Intent to award Sole Source to Requirement Carolina Professionals, Inc, located at 818 Northern Shores Point, Greensboro, NC 27455. This award is to procure Maintenance/Inspections for the Barrier 1, Anti Intrusion gate ststem located at MCAS NEW RIVER sold exclusively by this vendor. The anticipate Amount is $28,620.00,under NACIS Code 236210. Solicitation M6700111Q00316. CLIN 0001 QTY: 12, MAINTENACE/INSPECTION OF BARRIER 1 ANTI INTRUSION GATE SYSTEM. Interested vendors may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit quotes. This Notice of Intent is not a request for competitive quotes. However, the government will consider all vendor capabilities received within 2 days after date of publication of this notice of intent. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Vendor capabilities can be submitted via the following methods: U.S. Postal Service should be mailed to MCIEAST Contracting Department, Attn: Mary L. Williams, P.O Box 8368, Camp Lejeune, NC 28547-8368. Federal Express or hand carried must be delivered to Contracting Department, Attn: Mary L. Williams, Bldg 1116, Camp Lejeune, NC 28547. Facsimile to Attn: Mary L. Williams at (910)451-7850. The facsimile transmission must clearly identify this notice and the name of the contracting officer on the first page. Vendors bear the burden of ensuring that their information reaches the designated Contract Specialist. This purchase will be under Simplified Acquisition Procedures and Other Than Full and Open Competition as authorized under FAR 6.302-1. The anticipated award date is 16 March, 2011. JUSTIFICATION: ANTI-INTRUSION GATE INSTALLED AT REAR GATE AND THE TWO AT FRONT GATE OF MCAS NEW RIVER ARE HIGHLY TECHNICAL,HYDRAULIC AND PROPRIETARY SYSTEMS WHICH REQUIRE FREQUENT MAINTENANCE IOT MAINTAIN A CONDITION OF READINESS. THE EXPERTISE NEEDED FOR THIS PARTICULAR SYSTEM IS NOT READILY AVAILABLE EXCEPT THROUGH A MAINTENANCE CONTRACT WITH THIS VENDOR.
