Solicitation Number: VA-241-11-RQ-1395 Notice Type: Combined Synopsis/Solicitation Synopsis: (i) This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. (ii) The solicitation number is VA-241-11-RQ-1395 and is issued as an RFQ. (iii) The provisions and clauses incorporated into this solicitation document are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-35, July 14, 2009. Provisions and clauses incorporated by reference have the same force and effect as if they were given in full text. The full text of the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Veterans Affairs Acquisition Regulations supplement (VAAR) can be accessed on the Internet at https://www.acquisition.gov/far/ (FAR) and http://vaww.appc1.va.gov/oamm/vaar (VAAR) (iv) This solicitation is issued as a small business set-aside. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 334516, and the size standard is 500 employees. (v) This requirement consists of (4) line items with a quantity of (1 ea) per line item. Final award may not reflect the purchase all line items: 1.Model #: BML-XL20-C - Tube Sorter with 2D bar code reader (1.40ml tubes) a.Please specify the name, type and version of the controlling software 2.Model #: BML-RA- RACK ADAPTER KIT FOR XL20, INCLUDES TWENTY RACK ADAPTERS a.Tube Type - 0.5mL 3.Model #: BML-INS-1 - ON SITE XL INSTALLATION AND TRAINING 4.One Year Service Agreement Pricing for (2 ea) BioMicroLab XL 20 Automated Tube Sorters a.Please note: The MAVERIC lab currently owns (1) BioMicroLab XL20. We are requesting pricing for a service agreement for both units. b.Please include the terms of the service agreement c.Please specify if the service agreement provides on-site service/repair/preventative maintenance or if this option is available for purchase. (vi) The following STATEMENT OF WORK is a detailed description of the requirements for this solicitation: Description of requirements: The Boston VA Healthcare System has a requirement for BioMicroLab XL 20 Automated Tube Sorter for our MAVERIC Lab located at our Jamaica Plain facility. The MAVERIC Lab currently owns (1) BioMicroLab XL 20 Automated Tube Sorter and is looking to purchase an additional unit. Please submit pricing for all four line items listed in section (v). All quotes submitted for the XL20 must meet the following criteria and specifications: BioMicroLab XL 20 Automated Tube Sorter Functional Description The XL20 Tube Sorter automates transferring tubes between multiple 96 tube racks. The XL20's robotics allows unattended processing of 20 tube racks (1,920 tubes) at a time. For projects over 1,920 tubes, the tube racks can be exchanged dynamically. The XL20's advanced tube management system supports sorting a virtually unlimited number of tubes. The XL20 includes Windows-based control software that is easy to use and ready for user work lists. The software's intuitive interface makes the XL20 operable by a wide variety of users. Intuitive Software The XL20's Work List Manager software processes user work lists to sort, scan, and weigh tubes. The software guides rack loading, allowing for quick setup of complex tube sorting projects. Work lists of over 20 racks are managed dynamically for efficient processing of large projects. Work list progress and tube scan results are clearly displayed in real time. The XL20's log files allow tracking location, scanned image, tube weight, and 2D code information for each tube processed. Robust Reliability The XL20's robotics platform is engineered for robust continuous operation. Encoder-based automation combined with the XL20's 2D tube scanner and bar coded tube rack management features ensure reliable operation.
