- The U.S. Department of Commerce, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), Eastern Region-Kansas City (ERAD-KC), in Kansas City, MO is awarding a base year with four (4) option years maintenance agreement contract for the High Performance Liquid Chromatograph (HPLC) National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS)/ National Seafood Inspection Laboratory (NSIL) located in Pascagoula, MS. Liquid Chromatograph System Controller/PC - Operates Liquid Chromatograph system to store raw and finished data. The computer system is an integral part of the HPLC system itself. The computer manipulates raw and finished data to produce reports and findings. The PC system contains proprietary software/hardware for the Perkin-Elmer system that's not available from other sources. To change contractors would require an expensive duplication of effort and resources. The proposed contract action is for services for which the Government intends to negotiate with only one source Perkin-Elmer. A sources sought was posted on FedBizOpps under NFFKF7001105550KLC on August 16, 2011 for a 10-day posting with no responses received.
