Description
Description of Lock: (KABA E-Plex 5800 Series or like item) The Directorate of Emergency Services will be purchasing a new lock system. The locks will be the KAbA E-Plex 5831 B WL 626 41 series lock or similar lock with similar features and 2 will be the KABA E5870 62641, Standalone Access Control (SAC) or similar lock with similar features. OPERATION / CAPABILITY: Lock shall be FIPS 201 Compliant, electronic-battery operated, stand-alone system. The system must be able to capture cardholder data at enrollment and validate the Personal Identity Verification (PIV) authentication certificates to check that it is valid, has not been revoked, and was issued by a trusted source. The lock must be able authenticate PIV cards via the contactless interface at standard or high assurance levels to provide physical access control. The lock should have a stand-alone access controller (SAC) with reader and keypad that can be programmed to work with either a smart card-only or dual credential mode. Lock and controllers must support the Phillips DESFire contactless smart cards for valid users not issued a FIPS 201 card. System incorporates "CoreStreet-Enabled" FIPS 201 High Assurance PKI-based enhanced credential validation. The lock system must be able to program 300 personnel without software and 3000 personnel with software. It must be able to store and audit 30,000 recent events. Lock shall have at least 6 authority levels, 16 different access schedules, and up to 32 different holiday/vacation blocks per lock. MECHANICAL FEATURES: Construction should be of extra heavy duty solid cast housings with a satin chrome finish, solid cast levers, cylindrical drive wear tested for extensive use for indoor and outdoor application. The lock body should be no wider than 4 inches wide and the face of the lock should not be longer than 12 5/16 inches in length. The numeric keypad shall be vandal resistant and made with solid metal pushbuttons. Key override include Kaba 1599 6-pin cylinder (prepped to Kaba 90 Lever). The lock should have a three year warranty from date of purchase; built-in warranty counter in lock memory. ADDITIONAL HARDWARE: Included with the locks is misc. hardware such as strike plates, mag plates, and drill bits. Additional items such as door wraps (204231-26D-41) will be included with purchase. End user already has programming software to update and manipulate locks. Additional personnel training will be required upon installation of locks.
