Description
SOURCES SOUGHT: THIS NOTICE IS MARKET RESEARCH TO SUPPORT INCLUSION OF SOLE SOURCE (BRAND NAME) SPECIFICATIONS IN FY12 VARIOUS MILCON PROJECTS AND IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL. The U.S. Army Engineer District, Alaska intends to specify the below listed item as parts of larger construction contracts to be executed on various military installations throughout Alaska. Item: External Building Lockbox. External lockboxes are used to hold a master key/access card as well as floor plans for the facility and are for use by the Fire Department in the event of an emergency. Alaska Military Installation Fire Departments require each building on their Installations to have the exterior lockboxes keyed to a single master key. To maximize consistency, compatibility, economy, and sustainability, the Rapid Entry System by Knox Company (Knox Vault 4400 Series) is currently in use on Alaska military installations. Each Knox Vault provided is authorized by the Facility Fire Chief and Knox Company Program Manager and is provided with a code that has been assigned to the Facility. A standard product for use as exterior emergency key storage is required. In the event of an emergency, the single code will access any building on the facility. External building lockboxes must have access coding that is wholly compatible with existing Knox Vaults. Interested suppliers/manufacturers must certify that any item offered in response to this notice is Buy American Act Compliant. Responses must include the following information: (1) Fully detailed specification sheets. (2) Identification of the manufacturer's name, address, and country of manufacture. (3) Narrative addressing how alternate product to the one described herein is a fully comparable substitute. Please send responses to U. S. Army Engineer District, Alaska, ATTN: CEPOA-CT (Maloy), P. O. Box 6898, Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, AK 99506-0898 or email Kevin.j.maloy@usace.army.mil. Point of Contact: Kevin Maloy, 907-753-5594
