- NASA/GRC has a requirement for OUT OF AUTOCLAVE BMI UNITAPE AND ADHESIVE (BMIPREGREG FILM ADHESIVE)IM7-12K-GP 12 INCH WIDE 100 POUNDS AND IM7-12K-GP-6 INCH WIDE100 POUNDS. THIS PREPREG MUST BE PROCESSABLE AT A TEMPERATURE COMPATIBLE WITH THE COMPOSITE SURFACEOF THE MANUFACTURING TOOL. NASA/GRC intends to purchase the items from RENEGADE MATERIALS CORPORATION, 3363 SOUTHTECH BOULEVARD, SPRINGBORO OHIO 45342. THE TOOL SURFACE IS MANUFACTURED FROM A BISMALEIMIDE PREPREG ALREADY SUPPLIED BYRENEGADE. MATERIAL COMPATIBILITY BETWEEN THE TOOL AND THE COMPONENT MATERIAL IS ESSENTIALTO ENSURE LONG TERM DURABILITY OF THE TOOL. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12 and the SimplifiedAcquisition Procedures set forth in FAR Part 13.The Sole Source is under the authority of FAR reference 13.106-1(b)1.Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform theeffort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 12:00 p.m. local timeon TUESDAY SEPTEMBER 27TH, 2011. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluatedsolely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on acompetitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed efforton a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solelywithin the discretion of the government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. NASA Clause 1852.215-84, Ombudsman, is applicable.
